Unreasonable Mentors

Paul Polak

Co-author at The Business Solution To Poverty, Designing Products and Services for Three Billion New Customers; CEO at Windhorse International

We mourn the loss of a dear friend. Paul was an Unreasonable Mentor and integral part of the Unreasonable Family. We are forever grateful for the time we were able to spend together. The legacy of Paul's work will live on in the world and has forever impacted our community.
One of the founding mentors of The Unreasonable Institute, Paul passed away in 2019.
He dedicated his life to serving the 1 billion people in the world who live on less than $2 a day by helping them escape from extreme poverty. Through his innovative pro-poor technologies, the organizations he founded and the ideas he spread, he made massive strides toward achieving that goal. To date, 50 million families have earned their way to middle class.
Paul launched the Design Revolution begging the question, "Why are designers so focused on designing for the wealthiest 10 percent?"
We honor Paul and his relentless energy for ignoring “the way things have always been done” in order to make good trouble.
His books:
Out of Poverty: What Works When Traditional Approaches Fail, has become a renowned resource for practical solutions to end global poverty.
The Business Solution to Poverty was named one of the top 10 business books by the Economist
