Peter Bryant

Peter Bryant is a Managing Director at Builders Vision, where he leads grantmaking, impact investing and strategic partnerships for BV’s Ocean’s Program, focusing on key ocean health and blue economy themes.Over the past five years, Peter has spearheaded Builder’s Vision’s investment platform for oceans, which now includes 56 portfolio partners including first-time funds focused on ocean health, blue economy startups and blue economy accelerators, making it the largest private capital investor in the ocean sector.

Peter serves on the Executive Board of the UN Global Fund for Coral Reefs, the Gulf of Maine Research Initiative (GMRI), Bahamas Protected Area Fund, Oceans5, and the Steering Committee for the Ocean Resilience and Climate Alliance (ORCA), a new multi-funder platform that has generated more than $450M of new capital into ocean-climate solutions. He has also served on the boards of portfolio partners Coral Vita, Blue Ocean Gear and Blue Action Lab.

Peter has worked in ocean conservation and finance for more than two decades, spearheading partnerships, investments and programs for organizations like the Walton Family Foundation, the Walton Personal Philanthropy Group, The Nature Conservancy and World Wildlife Fund. Peter earned a master’s degree in environmental management from the Yale School of the Environment and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colby College. His hobbies include all things salty – kayaking, diving, sailing, island-hopping, and other ocean adventures.
