Premal Shah

Social entrepreneur & advisor | Co-founder Kiva

Premal is an Unreasonable Mentor. Premal was part of Unreasonable FUTURE 2019, and has advised over 15 Unreasonable companies.
Premal co-founded Kiva, a non-profit that connects people through lending to alleviate poverty. Kiva's website has facilitated over $1B in loans to 2 million financially excluded entrepreneurs in + 75 countries. The site has been named as one of Oprah's Favorite Things and a Top 50 Website by TIME Magazine. Premal's inspiration for the Kiva concept came while working with women artisans in India while on leave from PayPal, where he had been an early employee and Principal Product Manager. For his work as a social entrepreneur, Premal was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, an Obama White House Champion of Change and selected to FORTUNE magazine’s “Top 40 under 40″ list. Premal began his career as a management consultant and graduated from Stanford University. Premal realizes how goofy it is to write about himself in the 3rd person.
