Rwaida Gharib is a senior consultant for the World Bank Group, advising the International Finance Corporation on global climate policy, blue economy strategies, and energy finance efforts. For nearly 20 years, Rwaida has supported humanitarian aid and climate resilience/adaptation efforts, advising the UN Development Program’s biodiversity and indigenous programming; Conservation X Lab in developing global prize competitions for microfiber/plastic reduction and responsible mining practices; and multiple USAID projects spanning gender based violence, energy access, and global innovation. Formerly, Rwaida led strategic engagement efforts as a presidential appointee for President Barack Obama’s Administration supporting legislative and public affairs for USAID’s development finance initiatives and public diplomacy efforts for the US Department of State. She is an advisor and investor to several climate impact and tech companies in the Global South.
She is current pursuing her PhD at Stanford’s School of Sustainability.
