Ryan Manafe

CEO & Founder at Dagangan

Ryan is an Unreasonable Fellow.
Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Indonesia and a master’s in Corporate Finance from Prasetiya Mulya University. Before building Dagangan, Ryan was assigned on a rural project for the Presidential Work Unit for Development Supervision and Control. During his work on this project, Ryan began to investigate the deep infrastructure challenges suffered by rural Indonesians. Then, he spent three years at McKinsey as a consultant, mostly doing operations transformation projects like cost-down initiatives for mining company, organization restructuring for paper factory, and turnaround strategy for telco business. After his work at McKinsey, Ryan was ready to jump into the entrepreneurial world. He consequently founded and became the CEO of SUN Energy, a renewable energy company that became the largest solar energy company in Indonesia under his three-years leadership. Having experienced firsthand the profound challenges faced by rural communities in their country, Ryan and other co-founders decided to combine their knowledge and expertise to build Dagangan, a company that would solve the infrastructure and logistics issues preventing rural Indonesians from having access to high-quality goods at affordable prices.
