Sustainable Development

Santiago is an Unreasonable Syndicate Investor and Mentor. Santiago was part of Unreasonable Impact Americas 2024, and has advised over 14 Unreasonable companies.
Santiago began his career in internet technology, founding and leading what became Mexico’s largest online real estate marketplace and iBuyer. Six years ago, he stepped down as CEO of the tech venture and relocated to San Jose del Cabo to revitalize Hotel El Ganzo, a cultural and musical hub, from years of negative cash flow and evolve it into Mexico’s first BCorp hotel and a thriving business. Simultaneously, alongside a group of close friends, family and allies, they envisioned a thriving master-planned community and city center focused on culture, innovation, and regenerative ecological and social practices. He is now actively building out that vision with the help of a wonderful community and team of purposeful leaders, doers, and disruptors. His current efforts are focused on developing: a residential community, a mixed-use town center, hotels, concert and music venues, cultural events and gatherings, a wellbeing center, public spaces, a community center, regenerative tourism initiatives centered around social and marine work, and restoring an estuary. Additionally, he invests in and supports tech-driven companies aiming for global, systemic positive change. Recently, he has directed his value-add investing efforts towards a company developing a feed additive that reduces methane emissions from cattle by up to 80% and whose efforts based in Mexico are critical to its success. In his free time he enjoys free diving, trail running, meditating, strategy video games and staying up to date with the latest technological development and political affairs.
