Satoshi Akita founded WASSHA Inc. in 2013, driven by the mission "POWER TO THE PEOPLE" and a commitment to alleviating poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. Formerly a business consultant at IBM Japan, he leads WASSHA's "Energy as a Service" business. This model offers affordable solar device rentals to micro-entrepreneurs and off-grid households in rural Africa, facilitated through a network of 6,000 local retail outlets across five nations. Satoshi is also a member of StartX, a Stanford-affiliated startup community, and the Google for Startups Global Alumni Program.
