Tessa is a farmer's daughter from the north of England, who spent her childhood working on the farm and gaining an early appreciation for the meaning of hard work! After graduating in Social & Political Sciences from Cambridge University, Tessa began her professional career as a Strategy Consultant with Boston Consulting Group. Since then she has had over 15 years’ experience as a Managing Director in a variety of global digital businesses in media (Emap Plc, FTSE 100), retail (Dyson) and financial services (turning around Wonga UK). In February 2015 Tessa Co-Founded Olio, the world's first food sharing app, with Saasha Celestial-One who she met whilst studying for her MBA at Stanford University. Tessa is passionate about the sharing economy as a solution for a sustainable world, and about ‘profit with purpose’ as the next business paradigm. Tessa’s TED talk about the power of sharing has been watched over 1 million times, and in 2023 she was awarded the Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award, the longest running award for female business leaders.
