Vignesh Nandakumar is a well-recognized investor/ operator in the sustainability sector, with over 15 years of experience. Most recently, he was the CEO of Serentica Global, a KKR backed industrial decarbonisation platform focused on industrial customers, where he developed 2 GW+ projects worth over $1.5B. Prior to Serentica, he was Partner at Lightrock, a global impact PE fund, where he focused on businesses built to accelerate environmental sustainability, where he led investments in distributed energy, sustainable mobility and supply chains. Vignesh developed the environmental sustainability focused thesis for the fund, and has led over $60M of investments in the past 2 years in these sectors. He was an active Board member of Amp Energy, Vogo Automotive and Lithium Urban Technologies as well as the co-CEO of Lithium Urban Technologies from Feb – Sept ’20. Previously, as Vice President at Terraform Global, he was involved since inception of the company, leading the creation of the seed asset portfolio for the NASDAQ listing of the yield-co. He has a track record of developing and executing on renewable energy investments of over $750M across India, South Africa and SE Asia with SunEdison and headed the sub-Saharan Africa business from 2012-2015, where the portfolio was awarded the OPIC Impact Award for 2013-14.
