Haqdarkshak (HQ) is a tech-enabled service connecting millions of eligible worker to government welfare entitlements and benefits in India. It uses its proprietary digital database of government welfare schemes to connect individuals to a customized list of eligible schemes, provideing end-to-end support in scheme/document eligibility and registrations. The solution is tech-assisted with their app and the underlying database operating as a key enabler, while simultaneously relying on ‘*haqdarshaks*’ for execution. *Haqdarshaks* are female entrepreneurs on the ground assisting the millions of beneficiaries to apply for these schemes for a fee. Haqdarkshak's customers are able to gain access to government welfare programs and entitlements they otherwise would not have had due to a lack of awareness, support, and time. This is particularly beneficial as government welfare schemes in India are fragmented and complex, with over 700k welfare programs nationwide unavailable in a centralized, digital repository. While local governments are technically required to offer this service for free, it is timely and inefficient, with local government officials often taking a black market fee for their services. Furthermore, local governments expect the beneficiary to come knowing exactly which welfare programs are applicable to them. Haqdarshak’s value add lies in democratizing this process, making it simple and easy for the customer by providing institutional knowledge and service delivery. To date, the business has reached 2m families and helped successfully convert 11m applications to benefits, as well as trained 20k+ female entrepreneurs (*haqdarshaks*). They are raising a $3.5m Series A in the coming months focusing on product development to enable scale, as well as introducing new product offerings surrounding financial schemes via partnerships with banks. They aim to take their customer size from 2m to 200m through scaling their corporate partnerships, with the goal of doubling revenue every year.
