Sokowatch revolutionizes access to essential goods and services in Africa by connecting small shops to the digital economy. The company enables informal retailers to order products at any time via SMS or mobile app, and receive free same-day delivery to their store from localized warehouses managed by Sokowatch. The process makes it easier for shopkeepers to source essential goods, whilst helping manufacturers ensure their products are consistently available to consumers in remote areas. The company also offers data and business insights, as well as credit and other financial services typically not available to these informal retailers, putting the power of e-commerce into their hands.

Notable Achievements

  • The average delivery driver was making $2 to $3 per day before Sokowatch. Now the base wages are $10/day which is much more livable.
  • Sokowatch has over 15,000 users that include mom and pop shops and informal sector merchants.
  • Secured over $20M in funding to date including investors from Quona Capital, 4Dx, and TO Ventures.
