Magnuss is a maritime technology firm that provides modern auxiliary wind propulsion for global shipping. The Magnuss VOSS, or Vertically-Variable Ocean Sail System, is a proven and reliable fuel efficient technology that supports the de-carbonization of the shipping industry. The VOSS is an improved version of the Flettner rotor, a spinning cylinder that harnesses wind power to propel a ship, and significantly reduces f both fuel costs and greenhouse gas emissions of ships. The patented VOSS technology can save vessels up to 50 percent in fuel costs -- a line item that often represents more than two-thirds of a ship owner's/operator's annual expenses. Magnuss' customers include leading industrial companies and global shipping organizations. Virtually all existing cargo vessels and new builds can be retrofitted or outfitted with the Magnuss VOSS. This addresses major energy consumption problems, along with the significant environmental impact of the global shipping industry.
