Formed in 2010, TerViva is an agriculture and food technology company that delivers tasty and nourishing protein and oil food ingredients from the pongamia tree that are responsibly-sourced and more sustainable than oilseed crops commonly used today. TerViva provides patented high-yielding pongamia trees to growers for harvest and wild-harvests fair-trade pongamia beans to create sustainable food ingredients using proprietary bean processing techniques. Our work spans plant genetics, grower relations, supply chain establishment, oilseed processing and ingredient partnerships. Food ingredients made from pongamia beans will be carbon negative, meaning the trees sequester more carbon than then beans will emit in emissions from field to plate.

Notable Achievements

  • In 18 months from 2019 to 2020, planted 100k trees in -- more than the combined 6 years.
  • Over $49m raised to date.
  • In 2019, signed MOU to deliver pongamia oil as palm oil substitute with one of the world's largest CPG companies.
