Liam began his career writing software for flight critical systems in the military aviation sector. He then joined an R&D organisation, building tools for advanced geophysical applications and later unmanned autonomous systems for underground mining. After completing his PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, Liam joined multinational miner Anglo American, where he has held several roles across automation R&D, data science and carbon. He is currently the VP of Carbon Solutions for Anglo American where he sometimes is able to convince mining executives to invest in exciting sustainability startups.
