Mike Messersmith

Mike started his career working in nuclear engineering onboard aircraft carriers in the US Navy. Following completion of his military service, he got his MBA and started his career in consumer packaged goods. Working in a variety of high impact sales and marketing roles at companies including Frito Lay, Chobani, & The Nature's Bounty Company, he was the first US based employee for the Swedish alternative dairy company OATLY. Mike led all aspects of building the business, brand and team for OATLY over 7 years to become the #1 oat milk brand in the US and top growing natural foods brand. Mike joined Lasso - a Harvard University engineering lab technology spin-out - as CEO in 2024 to help create the technology platforms that could spark the next generation of incredible food innovation with better nutrition, cleaner labels, and decreased planetary impact.
