Paul Breloff is the co-founder and CEO of Shortlist, a recruiting technology startup working in India, East Africa, and now the US. Before Shortlist, Paul was the founder and managing director of Accion Venture Lab, a financial inclusion-focused VC fund. Under his leadership, Venture Lab invested in 24 fintech startups across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the US, including investments in mobile banking, marketplace lending, digital SME finance, and big data credit analysis. Prior to that, Paul worked with SKS Microfinance, India's largest microfinance institution, leading a team of 20 in Hyderabad on business development, product, and strategic partnerships. Paul has also advised CGAP, Root Capital, Shell Foundation, BRAC, and others on access-to-finance issues globally; practiced corporate law with Mayer Brown; and worked as an advertising account executive for Leo Burnett. He teaches impact investing courses for the Impact Business Leaders certificate program at Oxford, University of Virginia, and the Indian School of Business, and served as a Senior Advisor to Blue Haven Initiative. Paul has a BA from Amherst College and a law degree from Yale Law School.
