Shimi began her career in investment banking with Citibank in structured finance. Her claim to fame is having visited every single African country in 2 years with the exception of Angola! Shimi was an entrepreneur at heart and wasn’t cut out for banking. She left after two years to set up her own jewellery business which she turned into a multi-million dollar business before selling it. She then joined 3i to help set up their technology Investment practise. She remained in early stage tech investing for 2 decades. This included being asked by Gordon Brown to set up the U.K. Government’s commercialisation fund which Shimi then took private and raised over $200m. From 2010, Shimi set up Carousel Solutions Group focussing on SME advisory and board building. Shimi chairs two boards and is also on the board of The Royal Mint in the UK.

Shimi is an active member of YPO and enjoys travelling, Africa and flying in her spare time.
