Unreasonable Fellows

Shirley Billot

Founder & CEO at Kadalys

Shirley is an Unreasonable Fellow. Shirley was part of Unreasonable Impact UK & Europe 2021.
Born in Djibouti, to a Martiniquan mother and French father, Shirley grew up between East Africa and the Caribbean. From childhood, her activist parents instilled in her a deep awareness of environmental and societal issues and the importance of making a difference.
Founded in 2012, Kadalys is the reflection of Shirley’s vision to create a caring, eco-conscious beauty company founded on three pillars: circular economy, green chemistry & inclusive capitalism (every planting partner is a shareholder). Every Kadalys product reflects her strong commitment to her French West Indian heritage, the wider community, and the environment.
This strong commitment has led Shirley to be recognized at the highest level. In 2017, she was honored by the President of the French Republic with the Knight of the Order of Merit, the 2nd-highest national order in France. She has also won the Innovation French overseas prize in 2018, representing France at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance in 2019. HEC Paris graduated: Executive Education in Strategic Business Unit Management.
Importantly, Shirley’s efforts have created a more sustainable economy and greater biodiversity for the French West Indies. Having made a tremendous impact on her island community, Shirley has now set her sights on a more Unreasonable goal: reducing enough food waste to save our planet.
