As fossil fuels continue to contaminate the planet, the demand for renewable energy technologies is more critical than ever. Home heating is second only to automobiles when it comes to air pollution, and oil-burning furnaces consume more fossil fuels than diesel trucks. Dandelion Energy seeks to bring earth-powered heating to every home, with the goal of a carbon neutral future. Dandelion Energy replaces homeowners' existing air conditioning and heating equipment with a geothermal system. According to the US EPA, "geothermal heat pumps are the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-effective systems for heating and cooling." Using powerful heat pumps and safe, underground pipes, Dandelion Energy's geothermal system moves heat between the earth and the home drastically reducing costs for consumers and the environment.

Notable Achievements

  • 5x in customers every year since inception.
  • Achieve the following reductions in emissions when switching to geothermal: ~80% from Fuel Oil, ~65% from Propane, and ~60% from Natural Gas.
  • Originally conceived at [Google] X, Dandelion is now an independent company, with strong leadership from X and SolarCity.
