L. Hunter Lovins is President of Natural Capitalism Solutions (NCS) (www.natcapsolutions.org). NCS helps companies, communities and countries implement more sustainable practices in ways that are profitable. A sociologist and lawyer (JD), Hunter has consulted for large and small companies including the International Finance Corporation, Royal Dutch Shell, Interface, and Wal-Mart. She has served an advisor to the Energy Minister of the Government of Afghanistan, and was recently invited by the Prime Minister of Bhutan to speak at the United Nations. Recipient of such honors as the Right Livelihood Award, Lindbergh Award and Leadership in Business, she was named Time Magazine 2000 Hero of the Planet and in 2009 “Green Business Icon” by Newsweek. Author of 13 books and hundreds of papers, she has served on the boards of governments, non- and for profit companies. Hunter’s areas of expertise include sustainable management, globalization, energy and resource policy, economic development, and climate change.. She is currently a Professor of Business at Bainbridge Graduate Institute.
